General Goal:
The Optimal Learning Center Teacher is responsible for supporting students with diverse learning needs, including those with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). This role ensures equitable access to the curriculum through inclusive practices, targeted instruction, and collaborative planning. The teacher works to empower students as independent learners while closing achievement gaps through data-informed decision-making and personalized support.
Scope of functions:
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and individualized learning goals aligned with student strengths and needs.
Use ongoing assessment and data to track student progress and inform instruction
Provide a balance of push-in (inclusive classroom support) and pull-out (targeted intervention) services.
Collaborate with subject teachers to design differentiated instruction, scaffolds, and assessments that support diverse learners.
Promote inclusive classroom practices that align with international education frameworks and support all learners.
Support students in developing essential learning skills such as organization, self-management, and advocacy.
Partner with families to communicate progress, strategies, and ways to support learning at home.
Collaborate with external specialists (e.g., psychologists, speech and language therapists, counselors) to ensure a cohesive support plan.
Maintain accurate and compliant documentation related to student support plans and services.
Participate in student support team meetings, case conferences, and whole-school inclusion initiatives.
Advocate for student agency, well-being, and access to learning opportunities.
Contribute to building a culture of belonging, respect, and inclusion across the school community
Requirements:
Proficiency in English at a native or near-native level
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education preferred, Inclusive Education, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Experience working in inclusive or international school settings preferred.
Strong understanding of differentiated instruction, inclusive practices, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
Experience developing and implementing IEPs or individualized learning plans.
Knowledge of progress monitoring and data-informed instructional practices.
Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
Strong communication skills with students, families, and colleagues.

Schedule:
Monday through Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (One day a week until 4 p.m. variable by school year)

Titulo requerido
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education preferred, Inclusive Education, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
